VEHICLE SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Minimum requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Maintain, on file, a current CA DMV Class C driver’s license

  • Maintain acceptable driving record by company auto insurance standards

  • Must have at least 2 years of driving experience and have reliable transportation to/from work locations

  • Clearance of a physical exam, drug screen, and background check.

Preferred requirements:

  • 1-3 years of general work experience required.

  • 1+ years of commercial driving experience preferred.

  • Customer service and product handling experience preferred.

  • Previous experience as a delivery or route driver in the greater Los Angeles area.

  • A demonstrated record of safely operating a deliver van or larger regional delivery vehicle.

  • An ability to work independently with little supervision.

  • Ability to operate a two or four-wheeled hand-truck.

Language skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operate vehicles, including ambulances, in various locations throughout Southern California;

  • Provide excellent customer service skills to both internal and external customers and clients;

  • Deliver supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds to deployment stations, hospitals, or field operations staff;

  • Maintain cleanliness of company vehicles, property, and equipment;

  • Complete inventory requests, stock/re-stock supplies, deliver and collect paperwork from various locations;

  • Perform light maintenance duties and complete minor repairs to stations or equipment;

  • Assist with maintaining minimum readiness standards in vehicles and stations;

  • Inspect and promptly report damage, deficiencies, safety issues, or other problems with ambulances, company vehicles, equipment, and supplies, or any other matters relevant to the safe, efficient, and proper operation of the company.

  • Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information pertaining to company policies, pricing, contract terms, trade secrets, competitive information, strategic information, patient data, forms, manuals, charts, employee data, or any other sensitive or confidential information obtained while employed by or pertaining to the company, its employees, business information, or patients. Due to the extremely sensitive nature of this position, the duty of strict confidentiality extends beyond the term of employment;

  • Comply with all provisions of the Employee Policies and Procedures Manual, as well as all other company rules, regulations, directives, or instructions from supervisors;

  • Maintain a clean and complete uniform, demonstrate good personal hygiene, and a professional, pleasant, and polite demeanor to all persons with whom the individual comes in contact while on duty.

  • Other duties as requested or required by a supervisor or other member of the management team.

While performing duties on this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, drive a vehicle up to 26 feet in length, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee may occasionally be required to use a sense of smell.
